Challenge
A major supermarket retail chain heard employees and customers alike echo the need to reduce plastic packaging. Product managers recognized consumers wanted to reduce plastic packaging while also seeing the product inside.
The Solution
A pilot product was chosen to develop and deploy for testing. We engaged internal decision-makers, employees, and customers to understand the product requirements and the process of leveraging the existing container. Those insights, along with extensive in-house digital and physical prototyping, led our design team to develop a patent-pending solution, integrating a molded fiber base with a plastic locking lid.
